I have two goals as a certified appraiser. The first one is to provide my clients with an accurate opinion of value based on market evidence. In my opinion, there are two types of clients in the appraisal business: (1) those who are truly interested in my estimate of what the value of the property being appraised is; (2) those who are interested in a number. As a certified real estate appraiser, my desire is to work for those who are interested in my opinion of value. So please, if you are looking for an appraiser who will just hit a number or value, I will not be of any service to you. I feel that stating this upfront will save me and you a lot of time and head ache.
My second goal is to provide professional, courteous service to my clients and yours. The general attitude of many toward those in the appraisal industry is that appraisers are arrogant. I have had many callers in the past to tell me that I am the only appraiser that would take time and speak with them about what they needed without making them feel like they were wasting my time and that they were stupid for asking questions. Not all of us are arrogant and I will treat you with the respect that you deserve.
